“I love the solitude of reading.
I love the deep dive into someone else's story, the delicious ache of a last page.”

Our literature classes are divided into 2 sections for each grade. This division allows for small group instruction and also the ability to cover the same curriculum but go at the pace best suited for the students in the smaller classes. Each grade level reads at least one novel that is the same for both groups and is not in the textbook. In 7th grade the small groups also read a second novel. The 8th grade curriculum does not have a textbook. We base our year on novels, plays and short stories. Our choices for novels and plays may change, but all meet the standards set forth by our curriculum.
“That is part of the beauty of all literature. You discover that your longings are universal longings, that you're not lonely and isolated from anyone. You belong.”
-F. Scott Fitzgerald
