Every school has it's own culture. Our signature events express our culture and values while providing opportunities for growth, collaboration and camaraderie.
Holy Redeemer School hosts Family Fun Night in late September each school year. With the help of our teachers, parent volunteers and students, the school parking lot is transformed into a carnival with games, food, face painting and more. The event is open to the entire community. This event is not a fundraiser, but a small admission fee is charged to help off-set the cost of the event.
The Harvest Bazaar is Holy Redeemer's annual community weekend-long celebration, and includes lunches and dinners, carnival games, raffles, a craft fair, a silent and live auction, visits with Santa, a dinosaur hour with a local dinosaur expert, and so much more! Additionally, our massive yard sale will be open from 8:00 am to dusk on both days. More information can be found on the parish website.
Holy Redeemer School hosts a beautiful evening in December that is filled with musical and band performances, and features the 4th Grade Christmas Pageant. Pre-K through 4th Grade sing joyous, faith-filled Christmas song selections, the beginner and advanced band showcase their instrumental talents, and the 4th Grade class performs the beloved Christmas pageant.
The annual observance starts the last Sunday in January and runs for a week. Holy Redeemer School celebrates Catholic Schools Week with Masses, open houses, and other activities for students, families, parishioners, and the community at large.
HRS hosts it's annual International Day each March celebrating the many different cultures, music, and food from around the world. This event is open to all of our current families, potential and future parents, parishioners, and community members. Each class spends several weeks learning about a specific country and preparing their display. Students introduce visitors to the culture, food, language, and other interesting facts about their country. There is also a cultural showcase performance as well as a cultural fashion show, highlighting the diverse cultures of our school community.
Our school library hosts a week-long book fair each March in collaboration with Scholastic books. It's a time for students and teachers to discover new reading materials and embrace the love of reading!
Holy Redeemer students all participate in a variety of field trips throughout the year. Students have opportunities to take the learning on the road. From the Pumpkin Patch to the battlefields our field trips provide fun and engaging ways to learn about the world around us.
Holy Redeemer School proudly presents its annual spring musical, starring the Eighth Grade students and supporting roles casted by students in fifth through seventh grade students. The completed musical is a full-scale production that is entirely student run. It is comprised of students with diverse backgrounds who are involved in the cast or crew. Auditions take place in December with the rehearsals occurring between January through April. The Spring Musical is hosted every year in mid-May. Past years musicals have included The Big Bad Musical, The Life School Musical, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King Junior.
At the end of May, Holy Redeemer School hosts a variety of special activities during our annual Spirit Week. The Spirit Week themes are chosen and run by our student-elected Student Government Association. The themes in past years have included crazy hair/hat day, twin day, pajama/movie afternoon, etc. Every class hosts specials activities, which have included classroom parties, a bike rally, campouts in the classroom, and so much more. Sprit Week concludes with the popular Field Day extravaganza on the Friday before Memorial Day.
